The only complication had been the strange hero who appeared at one of the bridge collapses. Bao had immediately suspected that one of the Volgograd soldiers was responsible. But the American media had never even brought the idea up. Their government's blackout on discussing them was apparently still in place.

But now... now Bao could strike at the heart of the beast and pluck its stinger. It would be a telling blow. The US had withdrawn too much from global affairs and no longer had a sufficient military to respond to threats abroad. It would take decades to restore themselves to a level even remotely close to what they needed. Without the threat of their blazing blue soldiers, or their illegal orbital weaponry to prop them up - the Americans would be crippled. China would represent the only remaining military or economic superpower.

The shift that would result would be nearly irreversible, and would put The People's Republic at the top of the food chain. It was even possible that the biotechnology bans could be reversed, the shroud of secrecy surrounding the Embodied could be lifted, and Bao could go down in history as the one who dealt the death blow to America. He could finally expunge the shame his father had brought on their family.

He would be the greatest hero in the history of China, and once they rewrote the history books - possibly the world.
